Who is one person who has significantly impacted your life/journey?
My parents

Tell us how they made a difference and share 3 words that describe who that person is to you.
My parents are the reason who I am as both as an athlete and a person. They have taught me everything from perseverance, to showing grace (as both a winner and a loser). Good things take time, and they are never free – so better to put your head down and get to work!

What is the biggest hurdle you have overcome to get to where you are today?
The biggest hurdle I have had to overcome/am still overcoming, is proving to myself that I am capable of winning. After a disappointing Olympics, I didn’t think things could get worse for me in terms of discouraging results. 2017 I still didn’t make the podium, and in 2018, I caught a buoy which cost me my A-final. For three years I have believed I truly am capable of winning, and each year I fall short. My biggest hurdle is holding onto the belief that I am the best. I just need to prove it to the world.
