How does being a CAN Fund Recipient make a difference for you?
CAN Fund has been a source of opportunity for me over the years providing me with an extra boost to help me achieve my potential and dreams. With the help of this funding I have been able to buy the right foods, supplements, equipment and even afford trips to places to meet with experts and/or the best climate to train on the right surfaces.

Share 3 words to describe what CAN Fund is to you:
Opportunity, Excellence, Community

Think of someone who has impacted your life. Share 3 words on who they are to you:
My brother Joe – Passionate, Disciplined, Selfless.
Joe has significantly impacted my journey since a very young age. He was my go-to, my coach and my best friend. He helped me lay a foundation to be the best person and soccer player I could be. Without his influence, time and dedication to my development I don’t know where I’d be!

What advice would you give to young kids or adolescents about following their dreams?
Always make sure to back yourself first. There will always be people, teammates, coaches etc that doubt you, so you have to be able to stand strong on your own two feet. This will be able to be achieved if you are dedicated, hard-working and humble as people and athletes. The rest of the journey will take care of itself.

What is the biggest hurdle you have overcome to get to where you are today?
My biggest hurdles have been internally driven. I feel like self-doubt, injuries and small vision have been the most disruptive in my journey. These three things and the situations that brought about these feelings have also been the biggest reasons I have evolved and grown to be stronger than ever before. I now know that life gives you exactly what you need to be the best version of yourself. The trick is not to fight the lessons!

What is or was the best part of representing Canada?
The best part about representing Canada is the ability to use soccer on an international platform to inspire our nation to believe in themselves, to work hard and to stand on guard for each other.

What are your top 3 favourite songs to work out to?
Cheerleader by OMI
Watch me by Silento
Where Are Ü No by Skrillex & Diplo ft. Justin Bieber

What is your favourite book?
There are so many to choose from but Tuesday’s With Morrie is an old classic I enjoy. Also, Letters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke

What is your favourite quote or words to live by?
“Be your own hero” and “Do your best at all times, forget the rest”

What is your favourite recipe?
I have come to enjoy these sweet potato chocolate chip cookies recently. Here is the recipe…they are to die for!
