Favourite Sports Memory: Skating for Canada at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. I couldn’t even hear the announcer announce my name because the crowd got so loud as soon as he said “And from Canada…”
How you got involved in your sport: My Mom was a speed skater and coached the club in Edmonton and bringing her 4 kids along with her to practice was better than getting a babysitter!
The moment you knew you wanted to represent Canada: Growing up it was always instilled by my parents that representing your country is the greatest sporting honour you can achieve.
Favourite Quote: “Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful” ~ Buddha

Share one valuable tool that you use on a daily basis that helps you to be the best athlete you can be: I can’t stress the importance of a good sleep every night, it is just so important to get at least 8 hours to make sure that you are recovered for your next training session.
Who is one person in your life that has impacted your career and what was it that they taught you: I think that it would have to be both of my parents. Growing up they always made sure that I was enjoying the sports that I was doing and never forced me to do something that I didn’t enjoy. They encouraged me to follow my passion even though it was not the easiest path to take.
Fun Facts: I like to go home to Edmonton if I ever have a weekend off and play baseball in an adult league with my team the Edmonton Blackhawks.
