Name: Meaghan Simister
Hometown: Calgary, AB
Favorite Sport Memory:
My first trip to Europe to compete on the Junior World Cup circuit. I left home on my 14th birthday. Also, walking into the opening ceremonies in 2006 in Torino. It was one of the most moving and exciting experiences of my life.
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams.”
My mom bought me a bracelet with that quote on it while I was trying to qualify for my first Olympics.
CAN Fund Testimonial:
I believe that the Canadian Athletes Now Fund is a leader in athlete funding. It is an organization which leaves no elite amateur athlete forgotten. As a luge athlete, I must travel to Europe during the fall and winter months, which leaves traditional employment virtually impossible.Due to the funds raised by the CAN Fund, I am fully equipped, and am ready to focus, train, and competeat the highest level. Thank you SO MUCH!
25th place 2010 Olympics
