Name: Tyler Bjorn
Sport: Sailing-Star Class
Hometown: Beaconsfield, QC
Favorite Sports Memory: Too many to choose from. Between Sailing, Football, Rugby, Skiing…so many times one of these sports helped shape my life.
How you got involved in your sport: My parents were entrenched in the sport. Father was in 1972 Olympics in the Star. My mother grew up sailboat racing. They were both in the business of sailing so it was a natural progression.
The moment you knew you wanted to represent Canada: It was a dream from my early Teens. I first remember the games on TV in 1976 watching MTL. After that it was with the Crazy Canucks in Skiing…I wasn’t sure what sport I wanted to go in but I wanted to go.
Favorite Quote: “It not the will to win but the will to prepare to win that separates those who wish and dream from those that make it happen.”
CAN Fund Testimonial: CAN Fund is doing something great and it could not have come at a better time. Athletes today need help in every possible way. Witnessing what we achieved in Vancouver 2010 only proves we have the ability to be a TOP NATION at the Games. CAN Fund is doing their part and more.
Best Result: 3rd 2010 Star Europeans
Fun Facts: There are to many hidden facts that I just can’t reveal…but I can tell you that in sailing and the length of time I have been doing this sport there are a lot of stories that have happened or have heard that you would not believe…all really funny…
