How did you get involved in your sport?
Family friends took me climbing and I was hooked! 20 years later one of their sons and I are the top competitive climbers in Canada.
Why are you proud to be Canadian?
I love what our country stands for – diversity, inclusion, and the great outdoors!
How does being a CAN Fund recipient make a difference for you?
Being a CAN Fund recipient will make a huge difference for me this year. Leading up to my World Cup season it will allow me to have more regular physio visits, so that I ensure I am keeping my body healthy through all of the training I am doing. For the World Cup season itself, CAN Fund will allow me to attend all of the World Cup competitions and not have to pick and choose due to cost constraints. Sport climbing has no carding yet, and currently I am self-funding all of my travel to these World Cup competitions.
Who is your hero and why?
Clara Hughes who is also a CAN Fund recipient for her amazing athleticism and outspokenness about mental health issues.
