How does being a CAN Fund #150Women recipient make a difference for you?
I love being a professional athlete and getting to pursue athletics as a career. The reality however is that the training, treatment, and travel required to be the best in one’s event and reach the podium are expensive. I am truly blessed to have been selected as a CAN Fund #150Women recipient as the support the fund offers will fill a financial gap as I continue my pursuit of a podium finish at the 2020 Games.
What is your favourite quote?
“She believed she could, so she did” – R.S. Grey
How did you get involved in your sport?
I used to race the boys at school and I must have been fast because a teacher told my parents that they should put me in a track and field club.
When was the moment you knew you wanted to represent Canada? I was 14 years old competing at the Mt. SAC Relays and saw Angela Whyte (Canadian Olympian 100m Hurdles) wearing the same spikes as me. I knew it was a sign!
