How many hours do you workout/train/compete on average each day and how many days per week?
I am at the pool 10 hours a day, 6 days a week
What is the biggest hurdle you have overcome to get to where you are today?
I have had many, but I think not qualifying for Rio was the biggest hurdle I had to overcome. Mentally, physically and emotionally I had invested everything into going to Rio and I was heartbroken when my team and I did not qualify. This experience changed me as a person and as an athlete. I am who I am today because of that specific moment and I would like to say that I have grown tremendously from living through that and coming back stronger.
What are your words to live by or your motto?
“Believe you can and you’re halfway there” – Theodore Roosevelt
How did you get involved in your sport?
I was watching the 2000 Olympic Games with my parents and decided that I wanted to try it. Two years later, I went to a summer camp with the Calgary Aquabelles and I was hooked!
What is your favourite movie?
“About Time”, or the “Harry Potter” series
When was the moment you knew you wanted to represent Canada?
When I was very young I trained beside Kyle Shewfelt at Altadore! I knew then that I wanted to be an Olympian, it just turned out that it was in Artistic Swimming instead of Artistic Gymnastics!
