What is the biggest hurdle you have overcome to get to where you are today?
I quit the sport for a year in 2015 to go to university full time, after realizing that bike racing is what I truly loved to do and switching to online courses, getting back to the fitness I was at and back to racing at the level I was when I quit was the largest hurdle. My love for cycling was a huge motivator and I knew if I committed 100%, I could reach the highest level of the sport.
Best advice you have received?
Don’t stress over things you can’t control, the ones who make it furthest in this sport are those who don’t waste energy on things they have no say over.
What is the best part about representing Canada?
Knowing that of the 35+ million people in this country, you are one of the best at what you do. That sense of pride also comes with a sense of responsibility to represent your country to the best of your abilities.
