How you got involved in your sport: I have hockey in my blood, so when my Mom drove me to Toronto and put me in a sled for the first time at age 11, I never looked back.
The moment you knew you wanted to represent Canada: I have wanted to represent Canada since 2000. That is when I decided I wanted to be the best hockey player I could possibly be.

Share one valuable tool that you use on a daily basis that helps you to be the best athlete you can be: I have a goal set for myself. A reason to train, and be better than I was the day before. Every morning I wake up the first thing I see is a reminder of that goal and why I’m going to work hard that day.
Who is one person in your life that has impacted your career and what was it that they taught you: Thanks to Mom for showing me that the result is worth the effort, for driving me to the rink every early morning. Thanks to my grandfather for showing me how to appreciate the game.

Fun Facts: I am very talented in the kitchen, I use cooking to relax from the stress of the day. I love to read non-fiction about Canadian Identity. I love music, but cannot play any instruments, when I was kid I’d run around the house rocking out on a tennis racquet –close enough right?
