What is your favourite quote?
“Expect more than others think is practical”

What is the biggest hurdle you have overcome to get to where you are today?
I have had so many highs and lows throughout my career to get me where I am today. However, I do believe my most recent injury and surgery may have been the biggest to date. I underwent my second reconstruction surgery on my shoulder. I had a bone graph, screws implanted and ligaments reattached to the bone. One doctor said I wouldn’t be back for the Olympic Trials and another doctor took a chance on me but said the time frame was near impossible.

What does it mean to be supported by women?
To be supported by women is truly empowering especially as a mother. I think its important for each generation of women to continue to give back. I think its also important to demonstrate to younger athletes that having a child doesn’t mean your dreams need to stop, but they evolve and change to include your children. Your dream can become the family dream!

Best advice you have received?
Be positive and believe anything is possible.

What is your pre-game/pre-competition meal?
Almond butter and strawberry jam sandwiches!

Why are you proud to be Canadian?
I am proud to be Canadian as after travelling to over 42 countries, I know how fortunate we are to live in such a beautiful and free country.
