Loyal, Understanding, Dedicated
Think of someone who has impacted your life. Share 3 words on who they are to you:
My sister – Resilient, Strong, Fighter
She continues to be the role model and the strongest women I know. She helped raised my 3 brothers and I as my mother was a single working parent. From then to this day she is repeating history and raising 4 growing boys while herself now being a working parent.
What advice would you give to young kids or adolescents about following their dreams?
Life will throw you many challenges on the way that you will not always overcome to your liking or understanding. But learning from them and grasping on to the successful and accomplished ones will be the key to accomplishing your dreams.
What is the biggest hurdle you have overcome to get to where you are today?
The loss of my brother has been probably the biggest hurdle in my life. Losing my brother was then followed by not qualifying for the 2012 Olympics.
What is the best part of representing Canada?
Every day you know you are part of something big. The kids, supporters, family and friends are proud of you no matter what the results and are always following and cheering for you.
What is next? What are your current goals?
Right now we are getting ready for this summer season. Which is World League Finals in June, the Pan Am Games at the beginning of July followed by World Championship at the end of July. My goals are to enjoy each competition with my teammates and take it one competition at a time. As we are in a process phase and getting ultimately ready for the Olympic Qualifier in March of 2016.
