Hometown: Calgary, AB
Nickname: King
Favourite Sports Memory: Standing on the podium, being presented with my Olympic Silver Medal.
How you got involved in your sport: My friend, Winston Watt, was recruiting for the Jamaican Bobsleigh Team, so I thought I would give it a try.
The moment you knew you wanted to represent Canada: I was part of the Jamaican Bobsleigh team, but lived in Canada and was a permanent resident. I had been training with the Canadian team for about a year and a half when one of the guys asked me why I didn’t join the Canadian Team. I told him I was not yet a Canadian Citizen, so I was not eligible. He told me that I was, and that was that.
Favourite Quote: “Live every day like it’s your last.”
CAN Fund Testimonial: I have 2 Olympic medals and am still considered one of the best
in the World. I have been representing Canada for 10 years, but have not been able to secure a sponsor. CAN Fund has been supporting me since BEFORE I won my first Olympic Medal, and they continue to support me to this day. I’m not sure where I would be without them.

Who is one person in your life that has impacted your career and what was it that they taught you: My wife, Kara Brown. She has taught me to never give up on my dreams. There has been more than one time that I probably should have quit bobsledding to help support my family, but she has supported me unconditionally both emotionally and financially. I would not be as successful as I am at bobsledding or at life without her.
