How you got involved in your sport: I played hockey first (I was 5 or 6), and my parents decided to take me out of hockey and put me in swimming when I was 7. Stuck with it ever since.
The moment you knew you wanted to represent Canada: I was 14 and qualified for the Senior National Championships and got an opportunity to race the national team members at that time. That opened my eyes to the national team and the Olympics. At that moment, I decided to see how far I could go… and we have yet to see the end!

Share one valuable tool that you use on a daily basis that helps you to be the best athlete you can be: I go into every training day with a smile on my face. You must be able to have fun while training hard. Love what you do, laugh with your teammates and coaches, train harder than you thought was possible and you will be successful.
Who is one person in your life that has impacted your career and what was it that they taught you? My sister, when I was 12 yrs old I was going to quit swimming. She sat me down and encouraged me to stay in it…. she has been one of my biggest supporters over the years. I Wouldn’t be here without her.
Fun Facts: I hate snakes, love motorcycles (although I don’t own one anymore, maybe someday again), love cookies, interested in the stock market and trading, wish I could wear my flip flops all year long.
