Favorite Sports Memory:
My favourite sports memory occurred only just recently. This past February my parents planned a family vacation to the 2010 Olympic Games; having not been able to attend a trip with my family since starting rowing in 1999, my coach graciously understood my desire to attend the second week of the Games with my family. At the close of the Olympic Games and towards the end of my vacation my parents surprised my younger siblings and I with tickets to the gold medal men’s hockey game! All dressed up in our Team Canada Hockey gear I will always remember cheering on Team Canada with my little brother and sisters. Sharing this experience with my family, as excitement rang through the Canada Hockey Place Arena, was both inspiring and motivating as I know they will be there with me again as I reach towards my goals of an Olympic medal.
Favorite Quote:
Rowing is a sport for dreamers. As long as you put in the work, you can own the dream. When the work stops, the dream disappears.

Fun Facts:
When I am not training or studying for school I often try to express my creativity through art. I enjoy different forms of media including watercolor, pencil, and chalk pastel. I am currently experimenting with oil and canvas for the first time; consequently, it is proving to be more difficult than I had originally expected. When time permits I frequently give some of my art away as gifts to my friends and family; as my mother currently has numerous pieces of my art hanging up around the house.
