How does being a CAN Fund recipient make a difference for you?
Being a CAN Fund recipient relieves a lot of background stress. The support from an organization whose purpose is to help athletes along their journey is indescribable. I am able to continue to focus and consistently put my all towards my sport while going for Gold in Tokyo!

What three items do you take with you on every road trip?
Diffuser, Gratitude Journal, Pillow

What is the biggest hurdle you have overcome to get to where you are today?
The biggest hurdle I have had to overcome has been the loss of my mother 8 months before Rugby 7s made it’s debut at the 2016 Rio Summer Games. Those proceeding 8 months were the most challenging time in my life. Trying to cope with losing my mother, and being on the other side of the country, away from home for training was extremely challenging. Balancing an intense pre-Olympic training atmosphere and grieving posed many challenges. I was selected as the travelling alternate that summer to the 2016 squad. It was after the Games ended, I took time to figure out my ‘Why’ and if it my ‘why’ was strong enough to return to training the next season and compete for another 4 years to have another chance at the next Olympics. It is.
