Nickname: J

Favorite Sports Memory: Competing at the 2008 Olympic Qualifying tournament in Victoria, Canada, in front of family, friends and Canadian supporters.

How you got involved in your sport: My mom played field hockey for Canada from 1973-1979, so I grew up around the sport. I started playing in a league when I was 7.

The moment you knew you wanted to represent Canada: I remember watching the 1988 Seoul Olympics on tv when I was 6, and thinking “I don’t know what sport I’m going to choose but I’m going to go to the Olympics when I’m older!”

Favorite Quote: “What matters most is how you see yourself.”

CAN Fund Testimonial: I am so grateful to be receiving support from the CAN Fund so that I can focus more time and energy on my sport, and stress less about needing to work 30 hours per week!

Best Result: 6th place – 2010 Commonwealth Games, Dehli, India

Fun Facts: I won the 2009 Vancouver City Chase, and then went on to compete in the 2009 North American City Chase Championships in Quebec City, QC.  I am a huge Vancouver Canucks fan.  My brother plays on the Canadian Men’s Field Hockey team
