How you got involved in your sport: I went to a military sports fare and chose hockey as my winter activity. Plus I played road hockey all the time as a kid.

The moment you knew you wanted to represent Canada: Probably around 11 or 12 years old when I found out that I probably couldn’t play in the NHL.

Favourite Quote: “Your attitude not your aptitude will determine your altitude.”

CAN Fund Testimonial: CAN Fund is allowing me to not only to pursue my goal as an athlete to represent Canada for the 2014 Sochi Olympics, but also for me to continue my studies while being supported.

Best Result: Gold at the 2012 World Championships

Share one valuable tool that you use on a daily basis that helps you to be the best athlete you can be: Always show up with a smile and do the best that you can do, get better every day.

Who is one person in your life that has impacted your career and what was it that they taught you: My dad, he has been my hero since I have been a little kid. His dedication to our country through the military, as well as balancing it with his dedication to family and friends is something that I strive for.

Fun Facts: I enjoy modern art, and attempt to do some myself. My favourite recipe right now would be an apple and kale sauté.
