Please note that applications received past the deadline are still accepted but will be considered LATE. Late applications are still processed and reviewed but are only considered once those applications received prior to the deadline have been considered first.

We ONLY accept applications via Online, Mail or Hand Delivery. We do not accept applications via Email or Fax.
ATHLETES WHO CAN APPLY:
-Sponsorship applications will be accepted from any active national team athlete who is training to represent Canada Internationally.
-Summer, Winter, able-bodied and para athletes can apply. Applying is the only way you can ever be considered.
-Each approved athlete recipient receives direct funding of $8,000.
-There are 2 applications a year. Each application is a NEW application. If you have received the CAN Fund already this year you are still eligible to receive it again but you must re-apply.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO COMPLETE MY ONLINE APPLICATION:
-The Online Application will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. Please ensure that before you begin the application you have sufficient time to complete the application in its entirety.
-You will not be able to save your application and return to complete it at a later time. Your application must be completed in one session to submit successfully.
-All mandatory fields must be filled in so that you are able to proceed to the next page.
-A confirmation email will be sent once you have successfully submitted your application to the email address you provided in your application from AthleteRelations@CanadianAthletesNow.ca letting you know your application has been received.
WHAT INFORMATION/TOOLS DO I NEED TO COMPLETE MY APPLICATION:
-CALCULATOR for the financial section of the application.
-Throughout this application you will be asked a variety of questions including:
-Personal Contact Information
-Current Canadian and World Rankings
-Financial Information (A breakdown of income verses expenses for a typical year of training and competitions)
-Contact Information for 1 Reference (Someone who has known you for 5+ yrs and is not related to you). A Reference letter is not required at this time (Name, Title, Email, Phone Number)
-The chance to share with us any media contacts you may have that would be interested in covering the CAN Fund story so we can continue to raise awareness and fund the greatest number of athletes relying on us as possible.
-An opportunity to explain to the selection committee why you are applying for funding and how you will use the funds if you are selected to be a CAN Fund Recipient (Up to 500 words)
-An opportunity to tell the selection committee about yourself, your story, the ups and
downs of your journey, the experiences that have shaped who you are etc (Up to 500 words)
-Athletes can refer people in their networks to CAN Fund who they think might be interested in getting more involved and learning more about the CAN Fund. There is an opportunity on the application to refer up to 3 people or companies to CAN Fund (Name, Business Title, Company, Phone Number, Email). In particular we are looking for referrals to join CAN Fund #150Women, become Patrons of Sport monthly donors and/or corporate connections.
-Please ensure you have this information accessible prior to beginning your ONLINE Application.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS THE DEADLINE:
-Do not wait until the last minute to submit your application. Athletes have been given sufficient time to complete their applications before the DEADLINE.
-Application distribution channels include, National Sport Organizations (NSO’s), CAN Fund Athlete Reps and the CAN Fund Fund database and social media.
-Applications submitted once the deadline has passed will be accepted but will be considered LATE. Late applications are still processed and reviewed but are only considered once those applications received prior to the deadline have been considered first. All applications submitted ONLINE include a date and time stamp upon successful submission.
HOW ARE FUNDS DISTRIBUTED TO SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS:
-All Athlete Sponsorship Applications are reviewed by our Selection Committee subject to the criteria established by the CAN Fund’s Board of Directors. This criterion includes, but is not limited to:
-The applicant’s current World and Canadian rankings
-The applicant’s financial summary
-Application content
-Full completion of the application
-Prior to the announcement of each successful applicant and the distribution of funds, all information provided by the applicants is confirmed with each National Sport Organization (NSO).
-Each successful athlete will be notified by phone prior to a posting of their name on the CAN Fund website www.MyCANFund.ca.
-The amount of funds distributed for each application is dependent on the amount of money raised through CAN Fund fundraisers, public donations, Corporate Canada, CAN Fund Alumni, CAN Fund Athlete Referrals, Foundations and other donors.
CAN I APPLY TO CAN FUND IF I AM ATTENDING AN NCAA SCHOOL:
-If you are attending an NCAA school on a scholarship, please look at all your options when applying to the CAN Fund. It is imperative that you determine your school’s stipulations in accepting outside (the school) funding. Be advised that each educational institution has its regulations and policies and it is YOUR responsibility to determine if the CAN Fund meets their approval.

QUI PEUT PRÉSENTER UNE DEMANDE DE BOURSE:
-Tout athlète actif d’une équipe nationale qui s’entraîne pour représenter le Canada au niveau international peut faire une demande de bourse.
-Nous offrons la possibilité à chaque athlète (été et l’hiver) de faire une demande de bourse deux fois dans l’année.
-Les fonds alloués aux récipiendaires sont de 6000 $ par individu.
-Si vous avez déjà reçu une bourse du CAN Fund cette année, vous êtes éligibles pour la recevoir à nouveau dans l’année en cours. Toutefois, vous devrez compléter une nouvelle demande de bourse.
COMBIEN DE TEMPS EST-IL NÉCESSAIRE POUR COMPLÉTER MA DEMANDE DE BOURSE EN LIGNE:
-Environ 45 minutes sont nécessaires pour compléter la demande de bourse en ligne. Assurez-vous que vous aurez suffisamment de temps pour compléter la demande en entier avant de commencer à la remplir.
-Vous ne pourrez pas sauvegarder votre demande de bourse et y retourner plus tard. Votre demande de bourse en ligne doit être complétée en une seule fois.
-Les champs obligatoires doivent être bien complétés pour pouvoir soumettre votre demande ou pour aller à la page suivante.
-Une fois votre demande de bourse complétée et soumise, vous recevrez un courriel (à l’adresse électronique indiquée dans votre demande) provenant de ali.CANFund@gmail.com qui vous laissera savoir que votre demande a bien été reçue.
QUELS SONT LES INFORMATIONS ET LE MATÉRIEL NÉCESSAIRES POUR REMPLIR ET COMPLÉTER MA DEMANDE DE BOURSE EN LIGNE:
-Une CALCULATRICE pour la section financière.
-En complétant votre demande de bourse, une variété de questions vous sera demandée incluant:
-Vos coordonnées personnelles
-Votre classement canadien et mondial actuel
-Les informations financières (la répartition de vos revenus et de vos dépenses)
-Les coordonnées d’une personne référence (quelqu’un qui vous connaît depuis plus de 5 ans et qui n’a pas de lien de parenté avec vous). La lettre de référence n’est pas requise pour le moment (nom, titre, adresse électronique, numéro de téléphone).
-L’opportunité d’expliquer au comité de sélection la raison pour laquelle vous faites une demande de financement au Fond d’Athlètes Canadiens Maintenant et d’expliquer l’utilisation que vous prévoyez faire des fonds attribués si vous devenez récipiendaire de la bourse (maximum de 500 mots).
-Les athlètes peuvent recommander à CAN Fund les gens de leur milieu dont ils pensent qu’ils peuvent être intéressés à participer et à apprendre davantage au sujet de CAN Fund. Sur l’application il est possible de recommander jusqu’à 3 personnes ou compagnies à CAN Fund (nom, Titre, Compagnie, téléphone, courriel).
-Prière de vous assurer que cette information vous est accessible avant de débuter à remplir votre demande de bourse en ligne.
QU’ADVIENT-IL DE MA DEMANDE DE BOURSE SI JE LA SOUMETS APRÈS LA DATE LIMITE:
-N’attendez pas à la dernière minute pour soumettre votre demande. Les athlètes reçoivent suffisamment de temps pour compléter la demande avant la DATE LIMITE : Le vendredi 4 Novembre 4 2022 (17h, HNE)
-Nos réseaux de distribution des demandes de bourse incluent AthlètesCAN, les Organismes Nationaux de Sport (ONS) et la base de données du Fond d’Athlètes Canadiens Maintenant.
-Les demandes soumises en retard (après le vendredi 4 Novembre 2022 (17h, HNE)) seront acceptées, mais considérées comme étant EN RETARD. Les demandes soumises en retard seront considérées par le comité en dernier lieu, une fois que toutes les demandes reçues avant la date limite aient été considérées. Toutes les demandes de bourse soumises EN LIGNE auront un sceau qui indique la date et l’heure de la soumission.
EST-IL ENCORE POSSIBLE DE SOUMETTRE MA DEMANDE DE BOURSE PAR COURRIER POSTAL:
-Si vous préférez soumettre votre demande par la poste, il est encore possible de le faire.
-Si vous habitez Toronto et aimeriez venir porter votre demande en personne à nos bureaux, il nous fera grand plaisir de vous voir!
-La date limite pour soumettre votre demande par la poste ou en main propre est également prévue pour Le vendredi 4 Novembre 2022 (17h, HNE)

-Nous acceptons SEULEMENT les demandes soumises en ligne, envoyées par la poste ou livrées en main propre. Nous n’acceptons PAS les demandes envoyées par courriel ou par télécopieur.:
COMMENT LES FONDS SONT-ILS DISTRIBUÉS AUX RÉCIPIENDAIRES DE LA BOURSE:
-Toutes les demandes sont examinées par notre comité de sélection. Le comité tient compte des critères établis par le conseil d’administration du Fond d’Athlètes Canadiens Maintenant. Ces critères sont (la liste n’est pas exhaustive) :
-Le classement canadien et mondial actuel du candidat
-Les dépenses et revenus du candidat
-La demande de bourse entièrement complétée
-Avant l’annonce des candidats choisis et avant que les fonds ne soient distribués, toute information transmise par le candidat est vérifiée auprès de chaque Organisme National de Sport (ONS).
-Avant d’afficher les récipiendaires de la bourse sur le site internet du Fond d’Athlètes Canadiens Maintenant (www.MyCANFund.ca), les candidats choisis seront contactés par téléphone.
-Les montants distribués pour chaque période de demande dépend des fonds amassés lors des collectes de fonds organisées par le Fond d’Athlètes Canadiens Maintenant, des dons du public, des entreprises privées et des autres commanditaires.
EST-CE QUE JE PEUX FAIRE UNE DEMANDE DE BOURSE SI JE FRÉQUENTE UNE INSTITUTION DE LA NCAA:
-Si vous fréquentez une école de la NCAA sur un programme de bourse, veuillez vérifier les conditions associées à votre bourse lorsque vous soumettez une demande de bourse au Fonds d’Athlètes Canadiens Maintenant. Vous devez vérifier la politique de votre institution scolaire au sujet de fonds reçus d’une source autre que l’institution scolaire. Soyez avisé que chaque école a ses propres règlements et politiques et qu’il est de VOTRE responsabilité de déterminer si le Fond d’Athlètes Canadiens Maintenant rencontre leurs critères.
