Favorite Sport Memory:
Scoring my personal best in the heptathlon at the Big East Championships in 2007. I won the event, broke my school, the arena and the championship records and bettered my previous personal best by over 600 points. It was just such a great feeling to know all the hard work and commitment were paying off in such a big way after competing for a short time in a new event.

Favorite Quote:
Happiness, I have discovered, is nearly always a rebound from hard work

CAN Fund Testimonial:
This is my first year receiving the CAN Fund support and I am so grateful to be selected as one of this year’s athletes. As a young athlete on the brink of an international career, I know how difficult it can be to find the finances needed to maintain a training and competition schedule required to reach the next level. I want to thank everyone who was part of the process to make this Fund possible and all the individuals who made donations in support of our nation’s athletes. The help that I, and numerous dedicated athletes, have gained from this fantastic program will prove to be invaluable on the road to my goals of London 2012 and beyond.

Best Result:
1.89m in the High Jump, 5890 points in the Heptathlon

Fun Facts:
I have two hedgehogs as pets. I’ve been high jumping since I was about 5, but I’m actually afraid of heights, or more so the idea of falling from those heights when I’m looking down. I love reading and if I didn’t have school and practice to go to, I could sit out by the water in our backyard for days with just about any book!
