How does being a CAN Fund Recipient make a difference for you?
Training in Kenya has been an integral part of my development as a runner. These trips are 100% self-funded and the flights aren’t cheap! Receiving CAN Fund pretty much pays for two training camps in Kenya.

Dave Scott-Thomas – Coach, Mentor, Friend.
Dave has been my coach since 1998 when I arrived at the University of Guelph. He had a long-term approach with my development which took me from an alternate on the University of Guelph Cross-Country team to an Olympian. Dave has an unmatched coaching record in the CIS and had four Olympians compete at the 2012 London Olympics.
When was the moment you knew you wanted to represent Canada?
When I ran at my first National Championships in the 3000m Steeplechase. I ended up qualifying and competing for the Canadian junior team against the Caribbean countries.
What is the best part about representing Canada?
The support we get from our fans.
What do you value most in your friends?
Honesty.
Biggest lesson you have learned to get to where you are today?
Consistency and patience is required to be a successful distance runner.

Connecting with people who share the same passion.

Iten, Kenya and Flagstaff, Arizona.

Running shoes, books and my camera.
